Big week of doctors appointments. It all started on Friday with a regular visit to the Maternity Care Clinic. There we talked about my heart murmur. When I was first diagnosed they advised that I needed medication every time there was a procedure involving blood, eg dental work. They wanted to confirm what, if anything, needed to be done differently with labour and delivery in my case. So I was referred to OB specialist.

Then they measured my belly, as per usual. However, this time I was measuring small, back down to 26 weeks. I'm gaining the proper amount of weight, and all other basic testing shows I'm doing fine, she wanted to send me for an ultrasound to check on baby.

We also talked about a new pain in my pelvis. Apparently, stabbing pain at your pubic bone is normal, it is just the ligaments etc stretching as the hips open up for baby. Great.

Monday: OB specialist. They didn't feel there was anything abnormal about having a heart murmur and seemed confused as to why I'd been referred. But to ensure everyone felt like they were doing their due diligence they referred me for a Echo cardiogram. I have had two in my life, 2000 and 2003.

Tuesday: Ultrasound number four. Baby is doing great. She is measuring well within the normal range on all accounts. We had a student technician and she worked on me for an hour. But we got to see lots of baby. It was neat to watch her and feel her move around at the same time. They took measurements and we watched her doing some practice breathing, and the trainer tech showed us that she could see hair. She also confirmed that it is indeed a girl, even Logan and I could see that it is a girl.

Today, Thursday: Echo cardiogram at 9:15. It went just as expected, nothing exciting. The technician assured me that there was nothing of concern.

Apron Clinic Pregnancy Study. They took all my measurements, analyzed my diet over the past 24 hours and took blood samples. The same as usual. I will get to wear a heart monitor again and give spit samples as they test the affects of stress on mom's during pregnancy and how that later relates to the infant. Pretty cool. The really weird thing is that the next time I am schedule to see them baby will be 12 weeks old. Crazy how time flies.

Now, I am exhausted. This little girl is sucking the life out of me today. I've had a big week. In addition to the above I've had two lunch dates with girl friends and a shopping date with Stef.

Tomorrow off to Regina for a wedding and my first baby shower. Pretty excited!

Starting to see a faint line down the center of my belly below my belly button - not that I can see below my belly button.
