Birthday & Anniversary Week

29th Birthday - July 17

The weather was great. Hot and sunny. I wasn't feeling awesome, silly ole pregnancy. I wasn't feeling up to much, so we enjoyed a feast on the deck with the kiddie pool. Charlie loves that silly pool. He chased the little white ball from Bocce all afternoon.

I had a new dress that I had received for my birthday from both moms. It required a quick hem job, so while I was inside the boys hopped in the boat with beers. Almost the same as being out on the water.

Logan had to go to work for a night shift, but the rest of us headed over to Meagan and Jonathan's for a BBQ and a little King Kubb.

Anniversary Dinner

To celebrate our 6th Anniversary, a little early, mom took us out to dinner. Booker's BBQ and Crab Shack. An excellent meal.

6th Anniversary - July 23rd

Logan worked for our Anniversary, hey, someone's got to. But we were going to be together for supper - what to do. We had gone out for dinner on Thursday and are going out again Sunday. I could cook something nice. Logan loves lasagna, but we had that last night in Edmonton, steak but we are going to the Keg, had ribs at Booker's. No inspiration. So I proposed our classic meals; McDonald's or Pizza Hut. All of our early days of celebration were over these inexpensive meals - our comfort food. So we had Pizza Hut and DQ Ice Cream Cake!

152 lbs

Waist: 36"

Belly: 38.5"
I did not feel good for almost a whole week. July 17, my birthday, I had an upset stomach and a tightness in my midsection. It felt like there was a large elastic band just under my ribs. I continued to feel unwell through Friday. I had a doctor's appointment in that time, and felt terrible while sitting in the office. She sent me for more blood work, just to check things out. But she figured that the tightness was Braxton Hicks. We are getting close, practice contractions. We went out for our anniversary on Thursday night and I felt tight in my middle again.

Also, the heartburn continues!!

27 Weeks :: July 11

27 Weeks 5 Days

150 lbs

Waist: 36 1/2"

Belly : 38 1/2"
I have certainly seen a jump in belly size these past two weeks. I missed taking measurements in week 26, but from week 25 I'm up 2 1/2" in the waist and 2" at the belly button.

And she is certainly making her presence known. Our week in Regina she was pretty low key, just wiggling about. But since we have been home - wow - huge movements and big kicks.

I have nearly completed my registry today. A few more items I know need to get on there, but I haven't decided on them yet. Next task is to figure out what we are going to do with the baby's room. I need to find inspiration. Maybe a trip to Fabricland... I'm sure Logan will be impressed.

This is the last week of work. "Mom's the Word" closes May 21.

Logan felt the baby kick for the first time on May 20. We were sitting on the couch and I felt that the kicks were really strong and very forward. He put his hand on my stomach and waited. Then there were two good kicks right in his hand. His eyes were wide and he pulled his had away and looked at me. I said "yup, that was baby" and he responded "that was messed up".

Ultrasound #3

We found we are having a GIRL. We are both very happy. We both had stated in the car on the way that we thought that it was a girl, but were both hoping for a girl.

The difference between this ultrasound and the last one is huge. The last ultrasound should the shape of a baby. This ultrasound showed bones and details. It was incredible to see how much she had grown. What a miracle.

19 Weeks :: May 12

19 Weeks 1 Day

134 lbs

Waist 31 1/4"

Belly 34 3/4"

I felt the baby move for the first time - for sure - May 5. People had been asking me if I had felt the baby moving and I could only answer "I'm sure I have". There had been lots going on in my stomach but I didn't know what I was supposed to feel.

One of my Baby Apps said that at this point baby was sensitive to light, that if you hold a flashlight to your belly baby will move away from the light. So we thought we'd give it a go. Logan grabbed his street issued flashlight and ran it across my belly - nothing. He ran it back, and as it reached my belly button I felt this little baby flip right over - no question about it. And then felt a huge karate kick. I jumped and was freaked right out. We won't be doing that again. But I felt the baby. Now I know what it feels like and feel her moving about all the time.

The mom's of "Mom's the Word" have decided that I started to show in Week 14, but that it also kinda just looks like I just had Thanksgiving dinner. By Week 16 there was no question that I have started to show.

We had another Dr's appointment in Week 15. Everything went well. It was pretty exciting to hear the baby's heart beat. The steady heart with the sound of an interrupting thud as this little baby wiggled around. Very active, happy baby reported the doctor.

13 Weeks :: April 4

13 Weeks 5 Days

131 lbs
At this point I have started rehearsal for "Mom's the Word" at Theatre Calgary. I have also started to feel a bit better. I am not feeling sick 100% of the time, I am certainly still feeling sick by supper time and through the evening. But I am finally able to make it through some of my rehearsal day without feeling nauseous.

12 Week Ultrasound

We had our first ultra sound on March 17th. It was great to see our little jumping bean. Baby was wiggling all over the place - so much so that the technician had a difficult time getting a heart rate. It amazing to see that little baby.

I felt different that day. I had been so sick. I compared it to planning a wedding; sometimes you get so wrapped up in planning a wedding that you forget you are getting married. Seeing that little being moving reminded me that I am not just pregnant we are having a baby!

March 17 I was 11 Weeks 1 Day. This was a bit early to do the First Trimester Combined Screening - which was the purpose of the scan. So we had to reschedule for a few days hence.

March 25

Ultra sound #2

We had the very good fortune of having Stef's friend Andrea as our technician. She took us on a really great tour of the little baby. It was amazing clear. So exciting!

During Week 8 I had some sort of stomach bug. It started at Stef's house watching the Oscars. I didn't feel very well and started to throw up, but that didn't feel out of the ordinary. I went home and straight to bed. I threw up all night and threw the next day. I called in sick for work and felt pretty awful for a full two, almost three days.

Reunion Craft

Our family reunion for the Scherle Family takes place at the end of August. We will be gathering at LutherLand camp just outside of Regina. This year they have decided to add a little Silent Auction with the proceeds going to offset the rental costs. On behalf of my family I have created a table runner and napkins.

Stef and I found some great fabric at Fabricland.
And the added touch the will represent our family is the ladybug. I cross stitched a single ladybug and sewed it onto the table runner.
The package offers the table runner and 8 napkins. I am very proud of my work.
